TIPS

Take Time to Celebrate!

Published: April 26, 2017

Tonya thinks that ending a GrapeSEED Unit is cause for celebration! After all, your students have accomplished and learned so much over their 20 exposures with you and during  time interacting with their own book and CD. Here are a few fun and engaging tips for how to do just that!

  • Focus on the color of focus within the GrapeSEED Unit you’re moving on from with a coordinating snack or project! For example, on the last day of Unit One, have a special ‘Red Day’! Invite your children to wear red to school, bring in strawberries as a healthy red snack, and supply the art center with red play dough!
  • Let your students reenact a favorite story from the unit they’re moving on from for their parents or the class next door!
  • Lead your boys and girls in writing a class letter or individual notes to a favorite character from one of the stories, songs, big books or poems featured in the unit that’s coming to an end. For example, if you’re wrapping up Unit 3, a letter to Marvin Monkey thanking him for his hard work at school would fit the bill!
  • Record your children’s predictions about the theme, color, number or characters that they think will be woven throughout the upcoming unit!
