Make Space That Makes Sense For You

Published: August 29, 2016

GrapeSEED is proud of the variety and wealth of quality materials that we are able to provide you in each and every unit. We do, however, understand that it is a lot to manage and we want to encourage you to find space for your materials in a way that is not only manageable but workable as well.

1. Hang Materials
When possible, hang large materials like Shared Reading Poems for ease-of-use and Action Activities in order to keep your hands free as you model the actions for your students.

2. Use an Easel
A large easel such as a big book easel can streamline your lesson by providing you with a space to place materials like Stories or Shared Reading Big Books while reading them.

3. Store on Shelves
If you have space for it, a large single (or double) sided book display shelf can provide you with ease-of-access and you can even organize your materials within the shelf to match the order of your lesson to maintain flow.

4. Short on Space? No Problem!

We know that many of our teachers have minimal space available for additional materials. If that’s the case, your setup does not in any way need to be elaborate; it just needs to work for you. A small display shelf on top of a cabinet or even just a spot where you can organize materials and then have them ready and in order during your lesson will still allow you to provide your students with a quality GrapeSEED lesson.

5. Looking for a solution? Let Us Help!
This time of year is always busy as we’re trying to establish routines in our classrooms. If you aren’t completely happy with the storage and/or placement of your GrapeSEED materials, your GrapeSEED Trainer would love to help you find something that works for you and the space available in your classroom. Let them know prior to their next visit or even send a picture and they’ll work with you to make it work for you.
